Thursday

We began our final full day by using the climbing wall to play some games. After that, we took a trip to The Big Pit, a mining museum. As the weather forced us to rethink our caving plans, we visited the museum and travelled 90m underground to walk around some coal mines. We were fascinated by the tour which showed us the conditions that young children, as old as us, used to work in. There was plenty to explore and learn about. Sadly we weren't allowed to take cameras, phones or watches into the mine so we couldn't take photos...but we will still have our memories.

In the evening, we had to pack our bags ready for the journey home tomorrow. We had a good discussion in the evening about how much we had gained from this week and we all agreed how much value this week has had for us all.

We would like to thank our families for providing us with the opportunity to visit this wonderful place.
