Thursday

After a good night's rest we were all ready for our final day of activities.

Group 1 had their turn to try out canoeing on the canal today. We practised our skills first at controlling the canoe. It took a while to get used to the different ways we could control the direction of the canoe but we got there in the end. It was good to work with other people in trying to develop new skills.

Group 2 went for a mountain walk in the morning. We scrambled up the mountain and took turns to lead the way. There were many moments where we had to help each other out which showed how effective we have become as a team. The views at the top were amazing. When we got back to Trewern we talked about survival skills and made our own shelters. It wasn't easy getting our shelters sturdy and effective.

Our dinner today was a roast dinner. It was very popular and ended a week of wonderful home cooked meals. After that was finished we got a chance to try the low ropes course. We had to travel around the course without touching the floor whilst our partner was watching for our safety.

We ended the day with a discussion about how much we have gained from the week and talked about our highlights.
