Summer

This term we have been reading all the traditional tales, we have been using our imaginations to act out and re-tell the stories in the role play area. As writers we have been learning how to write our names and some of the key words from the stories. As readers we have been recognising the inital sounds in words, segmenting and blending to read words and also listening out for rhyming words in the stories. In maths we have been applying our number knowledge to solve number problems.

Spring

This spring term we have been exploring ‘Our World’ and learning all about people, places, animals and mini-beasts! As readers, we have been learning to recognise our name and the names of our family and friends. As writers, we have been learning to write our name and letters of the alphabet. As speakers, we have been learning to talk about what we have heard or read and how to express our opinions and say whether we like a book or not. In gaining an understanding of the world, we have explored stories from different places and discussed how those places compare to where we live.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

We look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday 5th January 2022!

Autumn

Wow what a fantastic first term we've had in Nursery!

All the children have settled in well and have been busy exploring the learning areas.

We have read various texts about starting school and the children have shared their feelings and experiences.

Take a look at 'Our Learning Journey' page to find out more!

Here are some activities you can be doing with your families over the half-term break.

Enjoy and take care, Nursery Team J

Hello Everyone,

There are lots of lovely areas for you to explore and we are about to embark on a wonderful learning journey full of fun and adventure!

To help with the settling in process we would like you to bring a family photo for us to display in our home corner. This will provide comfort and be a great tool for discussion around our topic 'All about me' We will be learning all about the world around us, ourselves and our families.

It would also be really helpful to bring a change of clothes that we can leave in the setting just in case.

*Polite reminder* Please don't bring toys into Nursery as they may get lost or broken.

Many Thanks, Nursery Team
