Term 6

Week 1

We have been learning about 'Jack and the beanstalk'.  In Maths we used cubes to measure the beanstalk and the leaves.  During our literacy lesson we watched a clip about planting seeds, we then had a go at planting our own seeds.

Week 2

We have been learning about ‘Goldilocks and the three bears’. In maths we have been comparing objects in relation to size, the children have been sorting bears into groups of medium, small and big. In literacy the children have been retelling the story and in PE we moved around in different ways, eg. Big stomps for daddy bear, tiptoes for baby bear.

Week 3

We have been learning about ‘The Three Little Pigs’. In maths we have been using different shapes to build a house. In literacy the children have been comparing different versions of the story and giving our opinions on which one we think is true and why. In EAD we have been building houses out of a range of materials, just like the three little pigs. We found that the bricks were the strongest!

Week 4

We have been learning about ‘The Three Billy Goats’. We discussed the differences between the goats and the bears. We learnt new vocabulary such as huge, medium, middle and tiny. In Maths we measured animals and compared sizes. We learnt about what goats like to eat.
