Summer 2

This term we are learning all about traditional tales, we will be engaging in conversations about stories we have been reading and learning new vocabulary. In phonics we will be exploring rhymes and recognising the initial sounds in words. In writing we will be writing our names and key words from the stories. In maths we will be making comparisons between objects relating to shape, size, length, weight and capacity.

Summer 1

This term we are learning all about superheroes! Our key texts are ‘Aliens Love Underpants’, ‘Super Kid’, ‘There’s a Superhero in your book’ and ‘Supertato’. We have been discussing our own super-powers for example super brave, super strong, super clever and super-fast. We will be celebrating the King’s Coronation and we will be having a tea party on Friday 5th May. The children are invited to dress as kings and Queens and can bring their favourite teddy to school for our teddy bears tea party.

Spring

This spring term we have been exploring ‘Our World’ and learning all about people, places, animals and mini-beasts! As readers, we have been learning to recognise our name and the names of our family and friends. As writers, we have been learning to write our name and letters of the alphabet. As speakers, we have been learning to talk about what we have heard or read and how to express our opinions and say whether we like a book or not. In gaining an understanding of the world, we have explored stories from different places and discussed how those places compare to where we live.

Autumn

Wow what a fantastic first term we've had in Nursery!

All the children have settled in well and have been busy exploring the learning areas.

We have read various texts about starting school and the children have shared their feelings and experiences.

Take a look at 'Our Learning Journey' page to find out more!

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to our setting.

There are lots of lovely areas for you to explore and we are about to embark on a wonderful learning journey full of fun and adventure!

To help with the settling in process we would like you to bring a family photo for us to display in our home corner. This will provide comfort and be a great tool for discussion around our topic 'All about me!'. We will be learning all about the world around us, ourselves and our families.

It would also be really helpful to bring a change of clothes that we can leave in the setting just in case.
