1. Welcome to the Year group

Welcome to year 3!  It's very exciting to see all the children back in school and ready for a new year of learning.  

 

All the children now have their basic knowledge wallets with spellings and times tables.  Please encourage your child to practice them at home regularly.  Your child also has a reading book and we encourage them to read at least 3 times a week.  Children are able to complete ARA tests at home and at school.  If they are completing a test at home, please record the score in their reading records so we can see how well they are progressing.

 

Year 3 will have PE on a Thursday morning.  Please ensure that the children come to school dressed and ready to take part.  

 

There will be a spelling test on a Friday and new spellings will come home on a Monday.  

 

Homework will be given out on a Wednesday to be returned by the following Wednesday.  As per the school policy, if homework is not completed, the children will be able to do their homework at homework catchup on a Friday lunchtime.
