2. What we've been learning

Maths

In Maths we have been learning about numbers to 100,000. We have represented numbers on a place value chart, labelled them on a number line, written numbers in words and partitioned numbers.

We rounded numbers to 10, 100 and 1000

English

Children are reading the text ‘Animals on the Move’. They are exploring the question: ‘Which animal makes the toughest migration? They are using the skill of skimming and scanning to find answers to questions. They are revising and developing using relative clauses to present information clearly. Children will be planning and writing a non-chronological report about a specific animal migration.

Curriculum

This unit deepens the children's understanding of life cycles, reproduction and animal characteristics. Children will pretend to be David Attenborough or Jane Goodall as they research their favourite creature and even create their own reports.
