1. Welcome to the Year group

Welcome to Year 1!

Welcome back! We hope you have all had a lovely summer break. We are looking forward to an exciting and busy year ahead in Year 1!

PE

Our PE day is Tuesday. Please ensure children come to school in the correct PE kit.

Homework

Homework will be given out every Wednesday and should be completed and returned by the following Wednesday.

Reading

Please read regularly with your child at home and remember to sign their reading diary each time you read together. Regular reading at home makes such a difference to your child’s progress and confidence.

Basic Knowledge Wallets

Children have a Basic Knowledge Wallet in their school bags. Please use this at home to practise their weekly spellings and maths targets. Children will be tested on these each week.

Attendance

The more we come to school, the more opportunities we have to learn.

On Friday's we will be celebrating all those who have a 100% attendance throughout the week.

We will have a year group assembly and hold a 'raffle', picking one child from RS who has 100% attendance.

They will also be bringing Mr. Sloth home for the weekend.  Please help your child take care of the       sloth and encourage them to write or draw in the class book about their weekend adventures.  Remember to return Mr Sloth to school on Monday ready for the following week

Thank you for your continued support. We are looking forward to a fantastic year together!
