Summer Term

Reading

This term, TLC class are reading two key texts.

Summer 1- The Enormous Turnip by Katie Danes

Summer 2- Octopus Shocktopus! By Peter Bently

We will be experiencing sensory stories, adapted to suit our needs and to have fun! We have enjoyed exploring tuff trays about the story, role playing and listening to songs about the story.

We will be identifying the characters in the stories, labelling scenes and making sentences using colourful semantics.  We also be matching pictures from the story and sequencing each part.

During the Summer Term, TLC class have been learning the importance of hand hygiene.  We have been ensuring that we wash our hands before meal times in school, such as snack and lunch time, and after using the toilet.  We completed sensory activities relating to this life skills topic, such as exploring bubbles and soapy water.  Using sequins mixed with clear gel to represent germs on a hand shaped sensory bag, we helped move the 'germs' out of the hand. We enjoyed using our fine motor skills to do this!
