1. Welcome to the Year group

A very warm welcome to Year 5!

This year, you will be expected to work hard in all of your subjects as we are preparing you for Year 6. You will be learning very exciting topics such as Ancient Benin, The Human Body, Materials and their Properties and Earth and Space. We are preparing you to be resilient and street-wise individuals, by motivating you in your learning. We will help you in every step of the way!

This year, you can expect to cover your learning in more detail. You have worked very hard in the past couple of years and you will be rewarded with fun, educational learning experiences. We want you to take pride in your learning and be ready and motivated for school every morning. We deeply care about your opinions and how you would like to learn.

We also have high expectations from you. We want you to help us by sharing and expressing your feelings. We also would like to see well-presented work in your books, as well as homework returned every week. This is important as it will help your personal learning journey.
