YEAR 2

Welcome to Year 2

We have had a great first term back at school. We hope you all have a lovely Christmas and we will see you all next year! For all remote learning, there are some links at the bottom of this page.

This half term we are learning about Toys in Science, History and DT.

We have investigated what different materials toys are made from and why. We have learnt about the similarities and differences in old and new toys. We have looked at different types of puppets and made our own pop-up and hand puppets.

In Maths we have been looking at multiplication and division so we now understand the four operations. We have also learnt about money and also discussed the importance of money in PSHE. We are encouraging the children to learn their

times tables and would appreciate your support at home with this.

Children should have times tables and spellings to learn in their basic knowledge wallet that they need to bring to school every day.

Important Information

P.E - Monday (Children should come in dressed in P.E kit)

Library - Thursday (every other week)

Homework - Friday (To be returned to school by the following Friday)

All children have been given a reading book. If your child is reading an AR book they need to complete a test relating to the book when they feel they are ready to do this. Ideally we would like the children to complete these tests at home but there is provision in the morning should this not be possible.

All children have their login details in their purple reading record. Please sign the reading record when your child has read their book. Children should be reading at least two books a week.

Please see below for links to AR, Bug Club and TTROCKSTARS. It is an expectation that children log in to Bug Club and TTROCKSTARS each week.
