Here We Are

Underwater

When looking at what life we can find underwater, we created our own fish by choosing different statements about their appearance and then we drew them to fit the criteria.

Special People

We talked about people who have been special to us and why we consider them special. We then wrote notes to them to tell them.

Earth Poems

We looked at a picture in the book that showed us many different landscapes on Earth and we wrote our own poems which describe the different types of environments on our planet.

Animals

We have seen videos during the past few months that have shown animals visiting built up areas that they wouldn't normally be seen in. We discussed the positive and negative effects the pandemic has had on the animals.

Handwashing Posters

After a discussion on how to keep each other safe in school we looked at a range of posters to encourage us to wash our hands and then designed our own.

Day And Night

We looked at the different activities that happen during the day and at night. We then considered our daily routines and drew pictures and wrote words to show what happens throughout 24 hours.

Jobs

After looking at the wide range of people within a community we talked about different types of careers we could have. We had an interesting discussion on whether gender, race or disabilities should stop people from choosing a particular career and how unfair it can be for people to achieve equality in the workplace. We decided to draw ourselves as we are now and also how we will look when we are adults in the jobs we would like to have.

Special Places

After looking at a quiet, peaceful picture in the book we talked about how nice it is to be able to have a special place to relax and enjoying the things we like to do. We talked with one another about special places we have and why they are special to them. We then wrote about what we learnt about each other.
