Autumn

Autumn

This term we have been exploring the classroom environment, following routines and making new friends.

Here are some books we have been reading this term.

We have been drawing self-portraits, taking about our families, learning about different cultures  and making some family pictures. In maths we have been counting to 5 and 10.

We have been looking at trees and how they are changing due to the seasons. We made our own autumnal tree prints using broccoli and did some leaf printing.

We have been learning about the animals that live in Africa. We practiced our cutting skills making pictures with African animal prints. We even tried some mango just like the ones from the mango tree in the story. Then we danced to African music and played musical instruments to the beat.

In phonics we have been using our good listening ears to listen to environmental sounds, instrumental sounds, voice sounds and have begun to listen to rhythm and rhyme.
