Year 2

Hello Year 2

TTRockstars battles!!

https://ttrockstars.com/

2M were the champions of the first battle!!! Well done!!! smiley

Well done again to 2M for winning the battle, but I would like to make a special mention to Dara in 2S who was the only one to take part on behalf of 2S!!

URGENT - There has been some improvement with children completing books on Bug Club (active learn) however there are some children that are still not logging in. All children should have their login details in their reading record, however if this is not the case and your child is unsure of their login details please call the school office and they will be happy to assist. We would expect children to complete a couple of books each week.

Well done to those children that have been reading especially Isaiah, Zara and Dara in 2S and Connie in 2M who have all read over 30 books since we have been away from school!!

We hope you are all well and safe at home.

We miss seeing and teaching you all but for now it is safer for everyone that we stay away from school as much as possible. So you will find some work here to keep you busy until we see you all again.

Please make sure you are reading every day. Bug Club is being updated regularly so if you run out of books we will be checking and adding more books.

There are also a selection of websites you can use to support your learning at the bottom of the page - Don't forget to practice your times tables on ttrockstars!

We will see you as soon as we can laugh

Library - 2S - Thursday 2M - Friday

Homework - Given out on a Friday to be returned by the following Friday

Basic Knowledge - Every day

Reading - Twice a week

Our topic for this term (Spring) has been from A to B. The children have been learning about different types of vehicles and how they have changed over time. We have thought about how we might travel to different places and how transport was depicted through mythology. We created artwork in the futuristic style of Luigi Russolo. The children took part in a trip to Valence House Museum, where they looked at various types of transport from the past and learnt more about the Dagenham Ford Factory. We have also thought about local geography and the human and physical features of the environment. We looked at climate change through Greta Thunberg and how we can help to reduce the human effects on the environment. The children have looked at Great Britain and the world map. We will be designing and creating a moving vehicle which could be used as a toy.
