Leys Primary School has embraced the 'cashless’ payment system which has improved the lunchtime dining experience for pupils.
Some of the benefits include:
- Shorter queues for pupils
- Removal of the need for cash held by pupils
- Removal of potential problems with loss of money or bullying
- Removal of potential 'stigma' for Free School Meal pupils as all pupils use the same cards
- Pupils will be able to earn points towards rewards for making healthy choices
- Parents can see what their child has eaten
For more information on school dinners, please visit www.lbbd.gov.uk/schoolmeals
You can use ParentPay and PayPoint cards for cashless dinner money. ParentPay is the school online payment system that lets you make secure online payments by a credit or debit card. However, families that prefer to pay in cash can use a PayPoint Payment Card for cashless dinner money payments. These PayPoint payments are automatically credited to the child’s dinner money account so there is no manual intervention necessary. Ask the school office for further information or click on the following link - https://www.parentpay.com.
Free school meals
Children in KS1 are automatically entitled to universal free school meals but parents who should be entitled due to their circumstances should still apply because the school would benefit by receiving extra funding, which goes towards extra provisions and equipment.
Parents of children in KS2 who are entitled to benefits should also apply if they haven’t already done so. There are forms available in the school office and help will be provided, should you need it.
